Part 20: Adios - from Buenos Aires

13 & 14 December 2003

On transit to Buenos Aires - Left Cusco by the noon flight to Lima – flew from Lima around 5pm – arrived in Santiago at 8pm local time – spent the night at the transit lounge of the Santiago airport – took the morning 9am flight to Mendoza and arrived there around 10:30.

I booked myself in a Hotel in Mendoza for half a day, as I decided to take a bus to Buenos Aires on the same evening. I have been in touch with Tina and Jasper, who are in Buenos Aires now. On my request they have already booked a room in Hotel Chile on Avenida de Mayo, where they were staying. Tina and Jasper is also on the last leg of their tour, they will be leaving for Holland on 21st December, while I am scheduled to leave for Munich on the 18th – it would be nice to spend the last few days in Buenos Aires with this nice couple - I left Mendoza by 8:00 pm bus.

15-21 December 2003

Arrived in Buenos Aires early next morning and straightway took a taxi to the Hotel Chile. Later in the morning met Tina and Jasper, it was a hearty reunion with them – we went out together to the central district and few other places – a lazy roaming about in the city.

Next day I did the same, and some shopping- Tina and Jasper was with me for a while then went separate way. On 17th evening we went out to a Tango show in San Talemo area – it was quite entertaining. During the day also got my remaining negatives digitised.

On the 18th morning, I changed my departure date to the 21st – I was lucky to be able to change the date so close to the Christmas day. I spent the extra two days mostly shopping for gifts – visited few places with Tina and Jasper, particularly the boat trip from Tigre through the estuaries of Rio Del Plata was most remarkable.

On 21st morning bade good-bye to Tina and Jasper, who will be also leaving that evening. I left by 2:00Pm flight for Madrid.
